Detroit, MI (July 11, 2026) – A woman was killed, and another person was injured following a two-vehicle crash on Friday evening, July 10, at Collingwood and Belleterre streets in Detroit, according to the Detroit Police Department.
Police said the collision occurred after one driver was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to stop at an intersection before striking another vehicle. The woman, who was in her 40s, died as a result of the crash, while a man in his 40s sustained injuries and was transported for medical care.
Authorities confirmed that one person is in custody as the investigation continues. Additional details regarding possible charges have not yet been released.
