Detroit, MI (June 18, 2026) – A 48-year-old Detroit man was killed early Thursday morning, June 18, after a driver fleeing Warren police struck his vehicle near the Detroit-Warren border.
Officers had attempted a traffic stop on a pickup truck carrying multiple occupants wearing ski masks when the driver fled, leading police on a pursuit. The pickup’s driver disregarded a red traffic signal and struck a westbound vehicle. The struck driver was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Five people inside the pickup fled on foot after the crash. Four juveniles were arrested, while the fifth remained at large at the time of this report.
