We hope the injured rider receives the medical attention needed and makes a full recovery.

What Compensation May Be Available After a Motorcycle Crash in Detroit, MI?

A motorcyclist injured in a crash may have legal options for medical expenses, lost income, and other losses, depending on the circumstances and applicable insurance coverage.

Medical expenses are often one of the first losses to document after a serious motorcycle crash. Hospital treatment, diagnostic testing, medications, follow-up appointments, rehabilitation, and other medical services can create substantial costs. Keeping medical records and bills organized can help document the treatment received.

An injury may also affect a rider’s ability to work. Missed shifts, reduced hours, or an extended absence may result in lost income. Pay stubs, employer records, tax documents, and other employment records may help establish these financial losses.

The motorcycle and other vehicles involved may also have property damage that should be documented. Photographs, repair estimates, towing records, and receipts can help establish the financial costs associated with the vehicles.

Evidence from the highway may be particularly relevant when reviewing how a motorcycle crash occurred. Witness statements, available video, photographs, vehicle damage, roadway conditions, and other records may help establish what happened before and after the initial crash.

A motorcycle accident lawyer can review the available evidence, medical records, insurance information, and financial losses to explain what legal options may apply.
